Knox supports a number of mission projects.

Lenten Offering:
Lent is a time when, as Christians, we prepare for Holy Week by taking special time to renew and deepen our relation with Christ. That renewal may include particular attention to the example which Christ offers of how to live in the world. We remember that when Jesus lived amongst us, he was with people on the margins of society for whom daily life is a struggle. In Matthew 25: 40, He reminds his followers that when they respond to those who in need, they are responding to Him: “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” In the spirit of renewing the congregation’s commitment to attend to those in need, Knox has a tradition of receiving Lenten offerings which support three missions:

Presbyterian World Service and Development

PWSD is acclaimed for its support of projects of development throughout the world, and offers relief when catastrophic emergencies occur. In particular, our support will be directed in aid of the Syrian refugee crisis this Lenten season.

Church Outreach Program (CORE)

Through CORE, a consortium of local churches, Knox pays the pharmacies which fill non-narcotic prescriptions for those who do not have the financial means to pay for the medications.

Meal Program at Royal City Church

Our neighbours, in partnership with local congregations, offer a program to provide hospitality and hot meals to those in need. Please remember those who are on the margins of society through prayer, and through making a Lenten offering.
