Church School

Children of our church school helped raise over $50 in nickels and dimes to support the Syrian Refugee family coming to Guelph.
 Well done kids!

Church School Happenings

Hooray! for the children and families that are here each week. It is a blessing to spend time each Sunday morning welcoming our children and actively engaging them in learning and growing in God's love. Our Church School is the great place it is also because of the continued support of the dedicated individuals who work with me in helping to keep our congregational baptismal covenant of bringing God’s love into our children’s lives each week. With so many outside interests competing for our family time, the challenges are many and you need to know you are very much appreciated! There will be a need for teachers. Please call or email me if you would like to participate in any way, with our Church School.

Knox- Offers a full program for children up to Gr.8, Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

- Classes commence approximately 20 minutes into the main Church Service.

Children are welcome in our worship services!

At Knox Presbyterian Church, our Church School strives to bring the message of God's love and Christ's teachings to children and youth. We help children discover, develop and rely on their relationship with God.  Church School at Knox endeavors to encourage each age group along their faith journey.

Preschoolers are full of wonder and open to discovery.  They also have a need for security.  They can and need to understand the depth of God's love for them.

Grade School Children are beginning their self-discovery.  They are working out their connection to others and their world.  They need to discover God's faithfulness, steadfastness and forgiveness and to understand their own relationship with God.

We affirm that children are important members of our worshiping community and should feel that they belong to the household of faith.

Your family is important here!

Growing up isn't easy in any family, but in God's family, especially, it is well worth the effort!

We are all children of God. Children have gifts to share with older members of the worshiping community, and in turn, older members have much to share with our younger members. We welcome everyone's presence!

A Few Words about Sacraments:

Baptism is a sign of God's promises, assuring us of God's love and of our belonging to Him. The water symbolizes forgiveness, new birth, and participation in Christ's death and resurrection. It incorporates us into the community of the Church and the work of the Holy Spirit. Children of believing parents are included in God's covenant and accepted into the community of faith through infant baptism.

Communion is the joyful feast of the people of God. All baptized Christians are invited to the table. At Knox, Communion is offered on a regular basis. The invitation to Communion includes children of all ages, although the time at which a child first takes communion is a family decision.

At Knox, an elaborate understanding of the meaning of the Sacrament is not a prerequisite to partaking of it. We feel it is important to let children know that God loves them, and that they are members of God’s family. They are welcome at the family table!

In Christ’s Love,
